Setting the date for your wedding can be one of the trickiest parts of your wedding planning, especially if it means that you have got family and friends travelling interstate or from overseas to be part of your special day.
Some couples will choose a date that is sentimental to them – the anniversary of when they first met, first started dating or got engaged, and so on.
If you have not set the date yet and are looking for some inspiration, here is a guide to 2021 that are bound to be popular.
2021 wedding dates
Friday 1st January 2021 – a great way to ring in a new year, but many of your guests might be nursing a hangover.
Sunday 14th February 2021 – Valentine’s Day is always popular with romantics for tying the knot, and in 2021 it falls on a Sunday. This dates books quickly.
Thursday 1st to Tuesday 6th April 2021– Planning a wedding on or to coincide with the Easter long weekend is often a popular option for people who are having a destination wedding or have guests who need to travel to attend. Just bear in mind that public holiday surcharges will be in place and can be a costly affair. My husband and I learned this the hard way getting married over Easter in 2005.
Friday 13th August 2021 –If you are not worried about Friday 13th being unlucky, this might be a great day to have a fun wedding.
Sunday 31st October 2021 – If you are having a gothic theme, or just enjoy a lighthearted date, Halloween could be the day for you, falling on a Sunday in 2021.
Friday 31st December 2021 – NYE weddings have become quite popular in recent years and are a great way to ring in a new year.
21st day of the month – Dates with symmetry are always popular…whether you think they bring good luck or are just easy to memorise. In 2021 there are a few dates that will be hot for people who enjoy symmetrical dates. May 21 (21-05-21) falls on a Friday while August 21 (21-08-21) falls on a Saturday.
