‘My interest in photography started during my university days, when I took photography as an elective subject while studying Design as a major. I learned on a film camera and played around with slide format and film for many years. My creative and technical skills in photography really exploded after I joined in a Canon group. I learned about exposure in depth, about the importance of light and composition. I dabbled in landscape, street and macro photography before focusing on portrait photography. I love experiment with different styles and post-processing techniques. I still do street portrait photography with models and a bit of landscape because I find that it really develops my creative process. But working with people is what I enjoy most. Whether its weddings, birthdays, anniversaries or any of the other important days in someone’s life, I love capturing the fleeting moments and turning them into what would become treasured memories’. My name is Sarah and I’m the lady behind CreateByDay.
When I was a little girl, my main dreams for my life were to become a hairstylist and to find and marry my very own Prince Charming. Lucky for me, dreams do come true.
I started my hairdressing dream as soon as I was able to, working in different salons as a tea and tidy. I was also very lucky to attend a school where I was able to drop a subject to spend a day each week studying hair at a local college. I can honestly say, although there have been moments since then, like anyone, where I wonder what I’m doing. I still can’t see me doing anything else!
I’ve worked so hard the past years to become more confident in my abilities and to grow not only as a hairdresser but also a person. I’ve attended more courses and training events than I ever thought I’d be lucky enough to and my passion, along with everything I learn only grows.
10 years on, I love my job more than ever… why? Because I get to help create confidence and happiness within those who sit in my chair. I love my job because I get to bring an idea to life through cutting and colouring. Then there’s the even more special engagements like weddings, formals, maternity photo shoots, big birthdays etc, and the fact that I get invited to be a part of the preparation of someone’s big moments, means I am helping to create a vision or a dream of someone’s. Every day I can do something different and change someone’s perspective of themselves in a way and THAT is why I do what I do.
I cannot wait to do this for you!
The Makeup Artist.
My name is Angie and I am a professional makeup artist.
I’ve lived my whole life in Brisbane, growing up on the north-side on acreage at the back of Morayfield with my parents and siblings. I’ve always been the different one in the family, into various arts from painting, drawing and sculpting ever since I was little, and no one ever knew where I got it from.
As I grew up, I struggled with bullying, acne, and my weight, which led to me retreating more and more into art, which is how I eventually discovered the wonders of makeup. The older I got, the more I learnt and loved it, and discovered all the amazing things I could do with it, including help a bride and her wedding party feel like goddesses on what will be one of the biggest days of her life.
I look forward to helping you feel radiant and stunning on your special day!
